Rates and Organization changes at Ms Mac

Happy New Year!

2012 Has brought a few changes, including the departure of Jools among the full-time macintosh consulting tech staff. Ms Mac’s client base is now being carried by Marsha while we work on training the new intern (Marsha’s son:) and setting up a virtual back up net, please have a little patience. It’s why the msmac.net holiday banners and announcements didn’t come down until two weeks into the new year. :)

Our rates have now changed and are $125 an hour, one hour minimum within most of manhattan, ny. Minimums vary above 125th street and outer boros. We’re also happy leave nyc for work along the metro and long island railroads lines. – again, minimum payment needed will vary.

We also want to make sure you know about our staff designer Lori Mocha. She’s the graphic artist who designed our logo and puts together our holiday banners and is available for logo and site designs.

And finally, don’t forget to enquire about our website management and site updating abilities. We specialize in adapting WordPress to the needs of a Small Business.

I’ve been in touch with these guys about a Playstation 3 that has gond down in our house. I personally would rather have an expert repair my things than me trying to crack into something I simply am not that familiar with. And these guys have been very helpful and I highly recommend them.

We at ms mac do have a feeling of guilt and a lack of justification for liking thanksgiving so much. It is a celebration of conquering a continent of indigenous people. But turkey and pie! Plus that whole neat gratitude stuff. (And if anyone can give me a really good way to try and redress that wrong as well I would be happy to look into it.)

At this time ms mac is grateful for a lot. We’re thankful for the life we have, the support and coolness of the people in our lives and the daily luxury and privilege to be concerned with social justice. We’re grateful for clean water, roofs over our heads, the internet and the short work week. Mostly we’re grateful for a business that has struggled but made it through the last 10 years of recession and economic strife we have all been hit with. Thanks to everyone who uses and supports our service. Happy Thanks Giving.

This is something that is not so well remembered; that computers are all about storing, holding, accessing, compiling, cross-referencing, sharing and creating information so it will always be where it is suppose to be. It is the outgrowth of civilization and libraries. It’s about finding the next best way to contain information for mass sharing and support. It’s about figuring out how to keep enough copies of the books that contain what we know so that another despot can’t come burn it all up in a rampage. I was pretty shocked to get home last night and find that my internet had been turned back on. I’m guessing someone was working on the box junction and pulled the wrong plug because I’ve never had verizon fix their problems this fast. I have service fromAce Innovative Networks, whom I reccommend, but it goes over verizon lines yadda yadda yadda.

Response time may vary as email is only reaching the iPhone at this moment. Hoping to have connection fixed before thanksgiving but it’s in Verizon’s hands now. I’ll be sure to duck into a cafe or two as well.

How To Dictate Notes In Evernote With Siri On iPhone 4S.

So the new iphone has a virtual voice recognition assistant. And if you have been using your iphone for writing you probably have Evernote installed so you can sync those documents across several computers. Well it looks like there is a way to speak a note into Siri and have it entered as a note synced to Evernote through the email sharing. I’ll be trying to do this with my free Dragon Dictation iPhone 4 software as well. Let us know how it goes!

It’s a little scary and interesting to read. Honestly I had no idea how many ways there are to make money at cyber crime. Time to really get the anti-virus on a good schedule. Macs are still fairly secure but the hackers are starting to code.
